Terms and conditions

These terms apply to all services provided by Meridian Literacy and Learning (KVK 42059114, VAT ID NL005463409B50), run by Dr. Jennifer Bambrick. By booking a service, you agree to them.

1. Who these terms apply to

  • Organizations: schools, districts, universities and other organizations that book professional learning, consulting or higher education services.
  • Consumers: parents, guardians and individuals who book reading assessment or individual support for personal use. Some rules below apply only to consumers, as stated.

If a separate written agreement with an organization says something different, that agreement takes priority.

2. Services

All services are delivered online. What is included, the number of sessions, dates and fees are set out in the quote, proposal or booking confirmation you receive. I deliver services with care and based on current literacy research, but I cannot guarantee specific results, such as a particular reading level.

3. Quotes and agreements

Quotes are valid for 30 days. An agreement starts when you accept a quote or confirm a booking in writing, including by email.

4. Fees and payment

  • Fees are shown in the currency stated in the quote or invoice, for example euros or US dollars. For consumers, prices include VAT. For organizations, VAT is added where it applies.
  • Invoices must be paid within 14 days of the invoice date, unless agreed otherwise.

5. Rescheduling and cancellation

  • You can reschedule or cancel a session free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts. Later cancellations, or missed sessions, are charged in full.
  • For organizations, cancellations of workshops or courses less than 14 days before the start date are charged at 50% of the agreed fee, unless agreed otherwise.
  • If I need to cancel a session, we will reschedule it at no extra cost.

6. Right of withdrawal (consumers only)

If you book as a consumer, you can withdraw from the agreement within 14 days without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day the agreement is made.

  • To withdraw, send a clear statement by email to jennifer@meridianliteracyandlearning.com. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but you do not have to.
  • I will refund all payments within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, using the same payment method.
  • If you ask me to start the service within the 14 days, you pay for the part already delivered.
  • If the service has been fully delivered within the 14 days at your express request, and you confirmed that you would then lose your right of withdrawal, you can no longer withdraw.

7. Materials and intellectual property

Presentations, handouts, reports and other materials I provide remain my intellectual property. You may use them for your own teaching or for your child's learning, but not share, sell or republish them without my written permission. Sessions may not be recorded without my agreement.

8. Confidentiality and privacy

I keep information about students, staff and organizations confidential. How I handle personal data is described in my Privacy statement.

9. Liability

My liability for damage caused by my services is limited to the amount invoiced for the service concerned. I am not liable for indirect damage, such as lost income. These limits do not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, and they do not reduce your rights as a consumer under Dutch law.

10. Complaints

If you are not satisfied, please email jennifer@meridianliteracyandlearning.com within 2 months of noticing the problem, describing it clearly. I will confirm receipt within 5 working days and aim to give a full response within 14 days. If we cannot resolve it together, you may take the matter to the competent court.

11. Applicable law

Dutch law applies to these terms and all agreements. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protections of that country's consumer law. Disputes go to the competent court in Amsterdam, unless the law gives a consumer the right to use a court where they live.
